Today on Oprah: Genocide in Darfur
Oprah and George Clooney have the star power to reach people who never visit blogs, including many of my friends with kids -- the friends who live in the suburbs and no longer have time to read entire newspapers or log on to the Internet. When I mention my blog, they usually say, "Tell me again. What's a blog?" But they do find the time to escape for an hour and watch Oprah. And today they'll learn about and see what's happening in Darfur:
Starvation, rape -- unspeakable atrocities. He saw it for himself. Geoge Clooney's gut-wrenching eyewitness account. There's a Holocaust going on right now. Children slaughtered...running for their lives. Don't turn away. They need help now.The Save Darfur organization is also hosting rallies across the country this Sunday. The blogging comunity should remind themselves (ourselves) of this important point on a regular basis. I feel like bloggers often forget that the majority of voters and the public never read blogs. That's not to say that they aren't important, but we need a reality check once in a while. I also feel like the blogs are becoming very high school. It's almost a popularity contest. Jim says...

Doesn't matter who Jim and Tammy are. The only name you have to know is Rose.
It won't work in actual fact, that's exactly what I suppose.
