A Boat, A Church and Our First Break-Down

We had our first break-down today. Not bad considering we've been on the road for more than three months. Luckily, the damage wasn't too bad: $50 for a loose connection to the battery.

Yesterday we went to Krebs, a small town just outside of McAlester, to meet with a few members of McPride, a fairly new group for gays and lesbians in Southeast Oklahoma. We then went to Eufaula to meet with Karen Weldin, the founder of McPride. Those interviews are coming soon.

In the meantime, here are a few of our favorite photos from the drive.

Rose, I love your photos. I wish I knew how to attach a couple from MY solo trip across the country in 2001. I've got some great middle-America (including Oklahoma) shots.

having grown up in the midwest, these photos remind of the missing landscape element out here in san fran... no clever church signs. normally changed weekly, they were always good for a chuckle or thought.
