Happy Gay Pride Weekend
It's Gay Pride weekend here in San Francisco. Parties, films, comedy, live music, street theatre and marches are taking place over the next two days. It's nice to live in a city that respects and celebrates gays.
The grand marshal at tomorrow's big march will be Elliot Blackstone, a retired 81-year-old sergeant, who in the 1960s befriended the transgender community in the Tenderloin and helped advance the GLBT movement:
"They hated me. They thought it was wrong for a policeman to associate with these faggots," Blackstone said at his home in Pacifica. "But they needed help, so I helped."
Blackstone worked with what were then called "homophile" organizations, such as the Mattachine Society and the Daughters of Bilitis, to end police entrapment of gay men in public bathrooms. He trained police recruits on how to handle the community by bringing in gays, lesbians and transgender people to talk about their lives.

Instead of covering this same old, tired subject matter, why don't you give fair coverage to the 9/11 Truth Conference that took place in Los Angeles this past weekend? Many scholars and professors (of philosophy, religion and physics), and even some former politicians from the Bush Jr. and Reagan administrations, were there giving a very serious credibility to the movement (actually, they've been the main leaders of the movement all along, contrary to popular MSM disinformation).
Here is an excellent primer article from a mainstream California publication. This reporter does journalism the way it used to be done: Unquestioned Answers
What's the Truth?
Loose Change
You don't have to take a position on this issue. Just report on it fairly and without bias, as you have done many times in the past on many other issues. Of course, many people will see a fair and unbiased report as being the same thing as supporting the cause (because the truth is very damning). I guess that is just one of the hazards of a real journalist. - VPKR
I forgot to say that even C-SPAN filmed part of the conference. Is that enough of an endorsement for you? - VPKR
The following is a comment by an attendee at the conference:
"Guys, I just got back from the conference...oh man, it was a 10 hour ride back, so I'm just collecting my thoughts. But the bottom line is the deal is sealed folks:
"1. 9/11 Truth will go mainstream. You could not find a more diverse group of intelligent people from around the world than in this one room...from teachers, doctors, lawyers, current and former military, law enforcement, producers, college students, longtime activists, etc. If this is any litmus microcosm, 9/11 Truth will be breaking
acceptable to the masses.
"2. We got it. I don't know how to say this other than the deal is sealed on the irrefutable proof of controlled demolition. There is a point of utter silence during a scene from the upcoming Loose Change Final Edit. God bless these guys for getting this WTC footage...but it shows a clear shot of the entire WTC in frame, with pools of thermite literally pouring down the sides of the building, and then boom---boom---boom...and the reporter is screaming that she just heard what sounded like hundreds of fire crackers go off. You'll have to see the footage. The new 911eyewitness footage that show a series of bright flashes within the top of the wtc initial explosion was also one of those moments where people were silent. William Rodriguez [WTC janitor], the biggest hero of 9/11, finally told every detail from that day, and the deliberate sabotage by the government to try and make sure no one survived that day is soul crushing. And [Prof. of Physics] Steven Jones' new smoking gun evidence...this is all grand jury stuff akin to a video of a shooting.
"3. I was struck how everyone I met could not have been more kind, passionate, loving and truly concerned yet informed about everything going on worldwide. Yes, this was a 9/11 Truth event, but it touched on virtually every important issue we're facing today. And this is why liberals and conservatives need to realize from 9/11 truth, comes understanding the very future of America and the world...the positive outcome for all issues that can come. But I am completely in awe...the closing speech by Alex Jones, and William Rodriguez's talk will leave almost anyone in tears. - pockybot | 06.26.06 - 1:32 pm" - VPKR
Wow.
And everyone jumped on the poor Christian lady who doesn't vote for being goofy.
